You must try Violet Oon’s dry laksa

dry-laksa

This is a public service announcement. If you are a noodle lover, if you are a local food addict, if you like spice, or hell, just like food in general, do yourself a favour and go check out Violet Oon’s Kitchen and order her Dry Laksa.

For those of you who don’t know Violet Oon, she’s Singapore’s Julia Child meets Martha Stewart meets Delia Smith, i.e. our nation’s golden oldie food doyenne that has done so much she deserves a national award and that also you never wanna get on the wrong side of.

Earlier this year, Violet’s kids opened a chic Bukit Timah road cafe for their mom. It’s really a lovely little space in a residential area that serves up a rather gargantuan menu of classic Singaporean and Nyonya treats. Plus a few of Violet’s signature innovations.

Like the Dry Laksa. Which I am actually not going to say much more about. Other than to tell you to get your butt down to her place to try it for yourself. Trust me, you’ll be thanking me for making you do this.
